Festival Director

My name is Marge and Im your Festival Director. I grew up in a small town with a great and supportive family. I moved away to college and started to grow into myself. I have lived in Savannah for almost 10 years and enjoy being involved in the community. I have met so many wonderful people here in those 10 years and I hope I have given back what they gave me. I look forward to seeing my friends and meeting new ones as I serve as your Festival Director this year!

Knowing that time is so infinite and our lives are mere moments in this space, I am overwrought with disbelief and sadness that so many people choose to hate.

Maria has been the Treasurer of Savannah Pride Inc. for the last three years.   Before moving to Savannah Maria was a native of the State of Ohio.   While obtaining her accounting degree she was very active in her community through school organizations such as The Gay Straight Alliance and other Gay non for profits in her home town.   After graduation Maria moved to Savannah, quickly finding her new home.  Savannah Pride has been a wonderful way for Maria, to met and find a wonderful group of family and friends including her partner who is also the Secretary of Savannah Pride.  Maria encourages anyone who would like to be more active in the community or even just met a great group of people to join the board as a volunteer or even a director.

Hello My Name is Cricket Epps and am currently serving my second year on the Savannah Pride Board Currently, I am a Bartender at Club One Jefferson and a Full time student.

What does Pride means to me? Pride is the Ownership and Appreciation of who I am, where I have come from and where I hope to be. Growing up in a small Colorado Mountain Town I had no reference point to why I always felt different. As I got older I sought out those whom I felt that kindred spirit with. When I started my first job in high school I met a woman who had previously been working for the mayor of Denver Colorado as an “OUT” and “PROUD” gay advocate. I was amazed at the insight and strength that this woman possessed, then and there I set forth my journey as a Strong, Independent, and Proud Gay woman. I only hope that each day I might inspire and enrich someone’s life based on being Proud of who I am and accepting all others and their differences.

Living all across the Country I am so grateful to have ended up here and this amazing opportunity of being a Member of the Pride Board. I have not only made friends for life but have created a Family here. From the bottom of my heart I LOVE YOU ALL !!!

….. What better a cause, than celebrating our diversity and our Togetherness

Dale Worley
At-Will Director

Dale Worley is the Associate Minister and Minister of Creative Arts at Unity of Savannah, a Center for Spiritual Awakening (unitysavannah.org).  Dale is a life-long singer, songwriter and piano player, and his music sounds like a mix of Jerry Lee Lewis, Elton John, Little Richard and Ray Charles, with a little of Willie Nelson and Bonnie Raitt thrown in.

In addition to serving at Unity of Savannah, dale also provides music, workshops, retreats and events to spiritual centers nationwide through Sacred Place Ministries (www.asacredplace.net).

Dale’s internet radio program is “Music Speaks Louder Than Words” and can be heard each week or downloaded at www.unity.fm/program/musicspeakslouder.

A newcomer to Savannah, Dale has been living here since January 2010, and has fallen in love with the city, the people, and the beauty of this area.  Dale lived in Kansas City before relocating to Savannah, but grew up in Tennessee, and as a Southern boy at heart, he very much appreciates being back in the South!

Dale is *proud* to be a member of the Savannah Pride board and is grateful for the opportunity to use his talents in service to Savannah’s GLBT community.

Angie Horne
Family Advocate Director

Angie Horne, the Family Advocate Director. Angie just recently moved back to the Savannah area to be closer to her family, and she’s so happy to be back! She moved back here with her partner of six years, and their daughter, from Tallahassee, Fl. Angie is extremely excited and feel honored to be involved in Savannah Pride this year. She states that she is grateful to live in a city and country that is moving forward and allows us to have a pride festival and is an activist as we battle for the rights to choose each other and to love each other, as we are meant to. It’s so important to her that our community stick together and help each other to become better. She says that Pride to her means, “Me being able to be me, and not be judged. To me it means standing for who you are, and what you believe in regardless of the adversity you may face”.

Angie is honored to be the Family Advocate Director. She feels it’s important for the Youth of our community to feel involved in our celebrations. It is her goal to make Pride about family, love and unity, and we can’t have any of those without the children that bring so much joy to our lives! It is her passion to continue serving the youth of our community by acting as serving on the Savannah Pride Board and a volunteer for such organizations as Stand Out Youth, and Georgia Marriage Equality.
